I watched a streamer on Youtube who had made a video to
herself in 2020 to be watched back in 2025. As she went through what her life
was like then, and what she guessed would happen in 5 years, current day she
was blown away at how much had changed in 5 years. And in reflecting back on my
last 5 years, there’s a LOT that happened, and a lot of it felt surreal in the
moment, and some of it still does feel surreal.
This is what has happened in my last 5 years, since July
2020:
-I changed churches twice
-I went from working full time at home for 1.5 years, to
two days a week at home for 4 years, and as next week we have to go back in the
office full time (all at the same job)
-I had surgery
-I moved; I have a coffee bar and a beautiful bookshelf
(these were on my bucket list), and it’s basically a coffeehouse gaming library
built for furthering the Kingdom of God.
-My parents moved out of their house of 30 years where I
grew up
-My dad retired
-I went on my first (and only) work trip
-My brother got married
-I got a national award at my job
-I dated someone great
-We broke up
-The bible study I went to for 13 years ended
-I went to Maine with my mom (this was on my bucket list)
-All of my friends got married and had kids number one,
two, three, or four (and a few other higher numbers)
-Both my grandparents on my mom’s side passed within a
few months of each other
-I went to Islands of Adventure and got to go to Harry
Potter World for the first time (this was on my bucket list)
-I’ve read 171 books (thanks to Goodreads for being able
to know that exact number, haha)
-I stayed in a tiny house Airbnb (this was on my bucket
list)
